2. No, they really are not supported.
3. They are not coming back

Not dead, just taking a long pandemic nap...
Could you please clarify what this means? I read it as “I have abandoned this project, but won’t admit it because suckers like you are still buying it”.
If that is not accurate, I would expect to see some kind of roadmap or timetable.

I have gone back to Kodi and to my delight they have finally fixed the VC-1 resuming issue. I’ve now said farewell to MrMC.
I love Kodi. I am running it on a fireTV on one TV and on a RPi on another. Notably, I don't use and am not interested in any third party plugins. MrMC looked like a perfect fit for me, which would enable me to retire the RPi and have only the Apple TV attached to my set.
Instead, I paid my $10 for a very buggy piece of software that has had no attention for almost 18 months.
I would be thrilled if MrMC were virtually identical to Kodi Leah or Matrix, but with only the official addons.

Wow. I guess they were charging a lot more on Apple devices. On Android TV, it costs $3 or something like that. Still don’t know why it is still up for sale when support has ceased. Somebody is cashing out every month as if all is good.
Zero reason to buy for Android, because you can easily side load the real thing (i.e. Kodi). While it is technically possibly to side load Kodi on an Apple TV, it is impracticable - much more complicated and the side load expires after 1 week unless you have a paid apple developer account.
For Apple TV, the $10 would be worth it if MrMC were stable and supported.

On Android, until recently Kodi had a chronic issue of not able to resume VC-1 encoded movies. That was the only reason I was using MrMC.
I bought the app for my Apple TV 4K money thrown away because it looks like it was abandoned. Subtitles do not work for foreign movies unless they are already embedded. It's a shame to have killed the app
