I am using infuse together with Jellyfin. It’s working fine. It’s different, you will have to get used to it. But it works great. Still running mrmc parallel though…..eazytv wrote: 26 Nov 2021, 18:27 Anyone aware of decent alternatives on TVOS?
Looks like @amet and @davilla are not active anymore. For the moment all is fine and working, however, it just a question of time until something breaks due to an TVOS update or similar. I just wanna be prepared for that moment.
1. No user installed addons are supported, python or otherwise.
2. No, they really are not supported.
3. They are not coming back
4. Read from 1. again

Re: Is this project dead?
Really sad, that there is no sign of the founders here. We all bought the App as we were sure, that this is the right approach bringing Kodi to App Stores and through that support I was hoping that the Software Development for the App would move on....would have even payed if it would have been a subscription model...
On the other hand, hopefully it is not something bad private life which is preventing them of giving some information here about the project...
So fingers crossed that we get at least an update here, so we know what the current status is and that we not just have to wait for something which might never happen.

Re: Is this project dead?
Are these apps available on the Apple ApStore, scoubidou???? Have you ever thought that some are using MrMC for more than just playing mkv??? Time of stupid player apps is over!!! And believe it or not. MrMC is still doing a pretty good job on my ATV. I ain't missing anything.
How pathetic must ones life be to keep ranting on forums about apps such guys do not even use. gawd
Oh. Forgot a "?" and another "!"...

Re: Is this project dead?
@Waltman, what do you mean by "using Infuse together with Jellyfin" resp. what is your setup?
I am willing having a look into it. My files are stored on a NAS and I am streaming with my ATV - looks similar to your setup. Is Jellyfin your server-side Software and Infuse the player on your ATV?
Would be great to continue using the MrMC database/SQL, tho.

Re: Is this project dead?
Posted this in another thread, but thought I would post it here since it's the reason I started the thread.
I found a solution to the poster disappearing issue on returning to MrMC. At least to me, it fixes the problem.
You will need to switch the skin to Amber. Then go to Settings, the fifth option from the top is Home Shelf. Go there and disable home shelf (first option). This will totally hide the movie posters from the home menu where the issue occurs. You can access everything normally in the movies or TV show sections etc. An extra click to get to "in progress" or "recently added" (by clicking left on the movies/tv shows), but you avoid that annoying poster disappearing issue.
Cheers

Re: Is this project dead?
I tested Infuse today. When using multiple clients (2 x ATV-4K, iPad and iPhone) unfortunately sync problems occurred with the "watched status". This bug was reported in the forum 7 months ago (!) and still exists. This does not look like a good alternative.Waltman wrote: 26 Nov 2021, 20:00I am using infuse together with Jellyfin. Re: Is this project dead?
This indeed does not sound good. Any alternative, DocEagle?
Looks like the German natives are exploring alterntives. Anyone an idea where we can discuss further, any other place before MrMC turns down these forums, maybe reddit or similar?

Re: Is this project dead?
Unfortunately, not yet.
Some time ago I tested Kodi for AppleTV, but using a free Apple developer account you have to re-install Kodi every 7 days. No alternative either.
I think for users of the Apple TV 4K there is currently no comparable App available. That‘s why I decided for MrMC.

Re: Is this project dead?
On Android TV, MrMC is the only app that can do/has all the following: full library support, VC-1 resuming (Kodi can't), play all lossless audio formats (VLC can't play DTS-MA), deinterlace video (Nova Player can't), and has PGS support (Nova Player doesn't). Nova Player can resume VC-1 video, but otherwise it's a very basic player. Just Player can resume VC-1 but has no library feature.
