So I backed up my library of 1000 movies to a single file, as is possible with expert mode in KODI video settings.
Glad I did as in a couple days later MRMC ballooned to 750 megs size and stopped working. Had to uninstall then reinstall MRMC. Then reloaded my library.
Watching MRMC now to see if the size balloons up again.

Are you talking about the size on storage? If so, have you tried moving all the image thumbnails onto external USB?
