Unable to play certain .ass subtitle files

It doesn't work in Mrmc but It works in Kodi.
Are some types of .ass files not supported?

that ass file is pgs subtitle, pgs is a bitmap file and we dont support those

I am pretty sure that's not true as I can read the subtitles in notepad.

But I think perhaps at least the normal subtitles can be shown? At least Kodi is able to display them.

Kodi might be using newer ffmpeg, as you can see in the snippet I posted our ffmpeg doesn’t recognise that pgs.

Is there a plan to update to the newer ffmpeg in the immediate future? I too have run into this issue.

It’s on the to-do list for the future releases, major breakage is expected so no ETA on that

I thought updating ffmpeg would not be difficult
Anyway keep up the good work. This is the only issue I have with Mrmc, while Kodi had been giving me quite a number of annoying issues on Sony TV.
