4K HDR at 60Hz, BT.2020 4:2:0 chroma (setting it to 4:2:2 didn't change anything), at 10bits pixel depth, match dynamic range on, match frame rate on. When I start playing it switches to 4K SDR at 60Hz, YCbCr 4:4:4 at 8bits pixel depth.
that video sample will also play in native player but it's really short and you have to look fast
I don't see a levels problem with that very short sample in my 1080p setup with ATV4, ycbcr output, AVF in use in MrMC. So is the levels problem only with the ATV4k's dynamic range switching?
Also, what is meant by "native player" that I see here?

if you drop the video into your itunes app under osx, then turn on 'home sharing', then it shows up on the appletv in the 'computers' app
OK, that's what I was wondering....how you were testing with the native player. I think I can do that with windows iTunes too.

As a side note here, I find the Subler App on macOS really handy, and pretty quick, to change the HEVC Metadata flags contained in common .mkv files into the Apple compatible - Codec ID : hvc1 .mp4 ones.
I am not able to get DTS/DD passthrough working on the latest build. Everything I play is decoded and sent as per the audio settings (in my case 5.1 pcm).
