Hi I noticed this on iOS/tvOS/Shield, watching live tv with streams that are 960x720 (with a DAR of 16x9).
Here's a debug with first playing the .ts stream with acceleration on and then without.

I'm still noticing this squished video horizontally watching LiveTV on the Shield (haven't tried the AppleTV it's at work):

Does the sample you provided play "squished" as well? It doesn't for me.
I indeed see the "squish" in the log, but it might be specific to PVR?
