Testing MrMC 3.8.0 - [Invites Closed]

HDR Update:

Typo.... In MRMC settings, I have 'Use VideoToolBox for 4K HEVC HDR'. disabled.
Also, I discovered a new 12.2 TVOS update, and after updating, I now find that Dolby Vision auto recognition now works again, and correctly detects those signals.

Am thinking updating the TVOS to beta is accounting for why I saw different video levels in HDR 10 beforehand, compared to now.
I tried to revert to released TVOS, for confirmation, but it does not seem to let me.

Although still can not make HDR 10 patterns look like they are apparently supposed to, I have found the HDR looks much better with my TV set to HDR 10 in it's preferences for HDMI (instead of Auto), and with the latest TVOS beta, Dolby Vision behaves as before.
SDR now looks really good, as it is doing pseudo HDR conversion, which I kinda like.

I'm curious, on the Ariana skin is it possible to update the library from the home screen? I'm not seeing it.

Unfortunately, audio passthrough for 11.x is still broken - now it just plays the video silently while displaying PCM instead of DTS/Dolby Digital on my receiver. Log

Please look into fixing this. Judging from the log output, there's an audio sync error. Thanks.

PS. the [Copy to Clipboard] button doesn't work in Chrome in the new web GUI. the popup message says it has copied the log but the it has not actually gone into the clipboard.

fixed, I hope ... if you could check this in the next TestFlight please

You have to be cautious about using tvOS betas, since they generally mess with video and audio settings and then later in the beta cycle (a beta or two before the release) they'll fix whatever they broke.

Things to check:
AppleTV (11.2) passthrough, blind attempt to fix, don't have any running 11.2 so there is no way to test under debug.
AppleTV, ac3 downmix to two channels when boosting center channel

Tested these 2 items...

Audio - think this is fixed. When Boost Centre Channel is on, it will now play the L, R, C, SL, SR channels but the LFE (subwoofer) channel is not played. Eg. it plays the 5 part of the 5.1 audio, the .1 is not played. I think the LFE channel not playing is normal though.

Web GUI Clipboard - button/clipboard works in Firefox and Edge correctly. Chrome now gives the correct prompt that it was not copied to clipboard and to do it manually.

We really need the tvOS (11.2) passthough checked. It's holding up release for 3.8.
