No, my USB disk is 3.0 and by gigabit local network also happens to me. I do not have this problem with kodi.

I have discovered that disabling hardware acceleration mediacodec (surface) in h264 files does not have stuttering. What could be happening?

I have done another test with hardware acceleration mediacodec (surface) activated with another video:

Since the last update, I have been suffering from this issue too.

It is hard to tell (for ex. my wife cant notice it easily) but I notice it immediately, makes me crazy, the reproduction is just... "jumpy" like... "out of sync".

I thought it was just some random bug from the beta, but then, I noticed this was the release version... I uninstalled, logged out of the beta, installed again, reconfigured my settings (All by "the book", from my SPMC times) but the issue persists.

I am using KODI while waiting for this to be fixed. I will try to send a log tomorrow if that helps.

Have you tried disabling hardware acceleration mediacodec (surface) for h264 files? It seems that this solves the problem, I have disabled it and it seems to work fine without stutter (h264 files).

Is it possible to install a previous version of mrmc that works correctly?

Advanced timing disabled.
MediaCodec disabled.

4K and 1080p/720p movies run without any stuttter on my shield 2017.

I already tried that, disabling advance timing doesn't fix the problem. Around 50% ish of the content I watch nowadays is HDR 4K, disabling MediaCodec Surface would be a pain.

I really don't know what happened to MrMC during this last iteration, it was perfect before. I would like to know if it is possible to download a previous working apk.
