WOL using MySql

Post by umtauscher » 13 Apr 2019, 10:43

Hi,

I have another problem with my new ATV 4K.
I am using a linux server containing my files and a central Mysql server. Up to now, I was not having problems waking that properly with my HTPCs, MrMc on my iPads or anything else.
Normally Kodi would wake up the server during boot or when waking up from standby, wait for mysql to become available and then show my library.
With MrMC on the ATV I have a problem.
MrMc starts and shows an empty library and THEN wakes up the Server. I find no way to refresh the view unless restarting the Atv afterwards.
Any ideas?
Thanks

There is an extension to wake up a remote server. Its called “advanced wake on lan” you can find it under program extensions.

Thanks,

I know that and I am using it on all my devices. Unfortunately that comes too late on the ATV.

I will try, but it's tricky to reproduce because I cannot really end the app on the ATV and it's not really in standby either. It runs sort of in the background most of the time.

double tap the siri remote home button, swipe up. it will kill the app.

ok, I hope this helps

To make things a little clearer:
I killed the app on the ATV as you sugested.
Then I started it again (server was in standby)
MrMC didn't wake the server 192.168.1.3 btw.
MrMC was waiting forever.
I woke it by hand using a wol app.
After that MrMC read the library and it worked.

When I start MrMC from backgroud I see the wol extension waking my server after MrMC shows the initial screen and there is no library.
Cheers

Nice to know, that it's not only me...
BTW I installed MrMC on my iPad and it worked right away waking the server.

Looks like it's sending WOL to that MAC address. Is it correct ?
