Re: Boblight/Ambilight clone anyone?

also have been using dreamscreen for about 2 months, neat video output, looks really good on animated movies. The only issue is output is limited at 1080p, and have not seen any app/firmware releases since i bought it. new 4K version likely mid year expected.

Re: NFS Shares not working on 2.8 ?

I was able to connect and add using the IP address so not sure if something is different in mrmc or on my end. All good now , and static IP address . Plex wasn't working from main screen on Appletv. restarted and Plex started working, maybe a glitch with AppleTV but I could still get mrmc to see the...

Ill provide a log when someone chimes in. Not many people use NFS , but i do as it is typically less overhead.

Re: Philips Hue Ambilight

I couldnt wait on maybes, but an alternate option for the "Ambiilight" effect is that i ordered a product called "DreamScreen" basically an RPI , splitter, video capture on a neat package including lights. Hasnt arrived , but might be worth checking out. http://www.dreamscreentv.com/ Still looking a...

Re: HEVC 10 Bit x265 Playback Buffering

quite interesting. doing a bit of research and there are quite a few strong players in the "alliance" . Doesnt mean apple will fold, as they seem to cut their own path. see what happens i guess. thanks for the background.

Re: HEVC 10 Bit x265 Playback Buffering

thanks for the quick responses team, just figured, even though 1080p officially is the capacity of the appletv, some of will still collect a few x265 along the way , as hopefully next gen is 4K. and maybe Apple can open up their api to true hardware acceleration instead of holding it for themselves.

HEVC 10 Bit x265 Playback Buffering

With hardware acceleration (2.8) , i do get a lot of buffering. Attached is an image showing a screengrab from info...

Re: tvOS 2.8.0 released

Congrats on the release of 2.8.0 it has been quite a difference in the cpu usage when rendering the larger stream bitrates i was sitting around 200% cpu and dropping frames , here is a screenshot with video acceleration on http://imgur.com/a/kqzGK i do notice there is not as much smoothness using th...
