MySQL/Apple TV: Stuck on migrating database with update 3.9.3

Post by michaeldecharon »

After the new update, 3.9.3., on my Apple TV's i recieved the message "migrating database" on start up of MrMC. And MrMC got stuck.

I've disabled MySQL to get access to MrMC on my Apple TV, to check if everything is set correctly.

After enabling MySQL is was not possible in MrMC to start the connection with my MySQL database.

When i checked my PhPMyAdmin i found two videodatabases, videodatabase7 and videodatabase116.

In the meanwhile i'm not able to use MrMC.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you drop database 116 and start MrMC again it will update again from 107

If it fails again, please try to pull a debuglog so we can see what’s going on.

You can enable more specific MySQL logging to show what has gone wrong

Thanks Amet for your help.

What exactly do you mean by droping database 116?

Do i have to delete that database? If so can you tell me how?

Yes, delete it in PhPMyAdmin but make a backup of it... or you can simply rename it to something else

Thanks Amet,

That did the job.

I've deleted videodatabase116 and restarted MrMC. After that a new videodatabase116 has been created. Everything works well again.

But now i've two videodatabases:
- videodatabase107
- videodatabase116

Do i have to and can i delete videodatabase107?

I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

107 is not needed anymore, it’s not huge so you can leave it for now until you are happy with 116 transition.

Same to you, merry Christmas and happy NY

I had the same issue. I ended up dropping all the databases.

Then I had issues rescanning my sources on mrmc so I ended up using Kodi and it worked.
