Remember that we do not transcode content on plex server, we use direct play... if movie is full HD BR rip it can be as big as 20gb

Recently I've had opportunity to try MrMC remotely connecting to my home plex server. I can concur that it doesn't work well. Whether over mobile data or on wifi the symptom I see 90% of the time is that plex doesn't actually keep transcoding...the movie, etc. starts but then stops after a few seconds because the server didn't keep transcoding. I can see when this will happen every time because the now playing section of the server is blank instead of popping up the currently playing file with transcoding info.

In my testing it seems that some libraries of my plex server are more likely to have problems than others. I can't yet figure out why. But, no doubt, this need to be looked into.

P.S. Using the plex web app via Safari (iphone) works 100% of the time.
