BDMV folder playback

Post by cardsdoc »

I'm trying to figure out how to play back BD or UHD BDMV folders. I have added the video source and set content as movie. BDMV folder is within a folder with movie name. If I navigate to movie folder MrMC just opens up the BDMV folders contained within. How do I initiate playback? Thanks.

Well, I don't know what remote you're using but you can bring up the menu on the BD folder (with shield remote that's hold down middle button) and you should get an option to play it back. Or click on index.bdmv or movieobject.bdmv within the bdmv folder. You'll get asked what playlist to playback.

Thanks. I'll give that a try.

So I tried all those things and nothing happens. I can play on my oppo 203 and on infuse via Apple TV. Not sure what else to try. Also this is via an SMB share of that makes any difference. Thanks.

Hold the select menu until the pop up comes up. That's a basic operation in MRMC.

Getting to the pop up menu is not my problem. I tried pop up menu->play on bdmv folder and index and movieobject files but no go. Are there any settings from default that should be changed? Do I need a particular folder structure? Right now it’s in a folder named for movie, then AVCD folder within that, then BDMV/Certficate folders within that. This structure with the AVCD folder is required by my Oppo 203 so why I have it like that.

Also wanted to add that I’m trying a UHD disc backup not a standard blu-ray. Don’t know if that matters or if UHD is supported.

I'd click play on the AVCHD folder but it could be that MrMC isn't supporting AVCHD structure but only blu-ray. I've had to do the same thing with my Oppo in the past - use tsmuxer to convert blu-ray to AVCHD.

Thanks again. I wonder what I’m missing. Must be something simple but just don’t know.
