If you use AVFoundation, as you should for HDR material, then the levels are left to tvOS to handle. MrMC doesn't edit them. So, it was determined that since other methods of playback on the apple tv 4k also exhibited the same problem that it was an Apple problem, not MrMC problem.

FireTV guys monitor the MrMC forums :) I'm sure they even have MrMC installed and have wormed their way into the TestFlight group too. I'm quite sure they follow us.

I still have a few more tricks up my sleeve but we are focusing hard on getting 3.6.0 (3.5.1 TestFlight) out with python support and Plex for Kodi addons.

The tvOS rendering error is only a few percent. 99.9 percent of users will never notice unless they test using a test pattern.

Unfortunately the latest tvOS, 11.3.0 didn't fix the black crush.

Maybe one day Apple'll get round to it...........!
