Yep, I've tested the new Infuse and I'm pretty happy with the vast improvement Apple has introduce for HEVC. Looking forward to MrMC updated.
Infuse 5.5.3 with tvOS GM stutters and stops after 4 sec when playing jelly fish, HEVC, 1080, 20Mbps.
Infuse 5.5.2 with the last beta played the same file much better; almost usable; did you notice the same or is it just me?

I agree with your findings with 5.5.3 on 11 GM. Unfortunately, I didn't test 20mbit/s files with 5.5.2 on previous betas. So, I don't know...

I'm not having a buffering issue - wired and playing UHD rips fine wth MrMC in HDR! But I tried the insane 60fps "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" movie in HEVC/60fps and MrMC just can't keep display all frames and the film stutters.

Is this a limitation of the AppleTV hardware and HEVC/60fps or could this be fixed with software tweaking?

I have a HEVC/HDR at 60fps that seems fine.

Bit rate : 86.4 Mb/s

how are you connected network wise ? I see 'wired' but what type. 100/10T just will not cut it for that bitrate.

Hey Davilla, it's connected at gigabit speeds and and it loads very quickly. I can jump around the time code without issues. It will sometimes play smooth but then usually just goes into a stuttering mess video wise.

I've just been able to test the newest Infuse beta and it plays this file without any issues (though MrMC currently has it beat in terms of buffer time and responsiveness of skipping to particular times.)

settings, system, internet access.

change buffer size to 200-400 MBs
change Buffer mode to 'Buffer all filesystems'

ignore 'max read factor' it's no connected anymore and we have not removed it yet. MrMC will read as fast as it can to fill buffers.

The most it will allow me to use is 200MB but that doesn't fix the issue. It seems to be dropping frames and not a network issue. I might have to get you the logs to analyze further.

Might also pop up codec info, aq and vq are of interest. They are the audio, video demux buffers.

curl -X POST -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"Input.ShowCodec","id":1}' http://192.168.2.44:8080/jsonrpc

Use your IP of course.
