At 1.x AVCHD was playing very good, actually MrMC was the only app able to play AVCHD files on Apple TV.
At 2.0 got stuttering every few seconds.
At 2.3 got almost continuous stuttering, if lucky a good frame.
I have a gigabit LAN to a Synology NAS, SMB not changed since MrMC was 1.x.
Could not help to notice that VLC went the other way around from not able to play AVCHD to playing them very good.
1. No user installed addons are supported, python or otherwise.
2. No, they really are not supported.
3. They are not coming back
4. Read from 1. again

AVCHD like from a video camera? I have a panasonic that creates 1080i60 AVCHD. MrMC on the apple tv plays those back very well.lost16 wrote:At 1.x AVCHD was playing very good, actually MrMC was the only app able to play AVCHD files on Apple TV.
