Re: Washed out Colors
this really is NORMAL. you don't have a problem. just adjust the sync and be happy that you can. many video players don't even offer the option!solamnic wrote: ↑16 Mar 2018, 18:29 I found out that this minor delay is produced when playing back DTSHD or TrueHD movies.
playing back normal dts ac3 files produces no delay..
as i ve mentioned before
Apple TV -> Marantz 5012 -> LGB7 Oled...
While using AV codec since Videotoolbox codex produces washed out colors (but no delay lip sync)

Also have washed out colors, but disabling Videotoolbox corrected this. As mentioned sync problems only with HD codecs, PITA to frequently change audio lag based on type of codec.

Re: Washed out Colors
Probably 0.100 to 0.150 delay is needed. Just a guess based on what I have to do. You might want to turn off any "lip-sync" or similar automatic audio sync capability of your receiver as it could just make things worse.solamnic wrote: ↑16 Mar 2018, 23:02 https://pastebin.com/pH5hudNr
Hope this helps..
will try now to calculate the delay needed...
I don't know about you but I see sync problems with material played with other apps on the apple tv 4k. Netflix, Amazon, itunes. So, I start by using the audio delay function of my receiver (this is separate from the auto function which I disable), which is per input. I get that right for those apps - a baseline for the whole apple tv.
Then I use the audio sync function in MrMC to adjust for what I'm watching in that app. Some material doesn't need any adjustment. Other stuff needs adjustment. I think it's more to do with frame rate, not audio type, but maybe I'm wrong.

Re: Washed out Colors
(no lip sync enabled in receiver)
used a delay of 200ms and i think is close to perfect
since i ve enable the Match Frame Rate in Apple Tv even dts is out of sync..
(not only hd audio files)
hmmmm most of my files are 23.976 (dont know if compression profile matters)
will test even more tomorrow since its close to 2.am in here

I use a 200ms delay. But it's global for the Apple TV, not specific to MrMC.

Re: Washed out Colors
my global for the ATV4k is about 50ms. that's surprising that you need 200.timstephens24 wrote: ↑16 Mar 2018, 23:54 I use a 200ms delay. But it's global for the Apple TV, not specific to MrMC.
