I sort of feel like this is a silly question, given MrMC have clearly stated no addons, but I'm not sure if that covers the RetroPlayer stuff.
Now that it looks like RetroPlayer is being merged into the Kodi mainline in 18, might this feature make it's way into MrMC eventually or is it considered out of scope like the python addons?

Any mention of illegal streaming sites, addons or any pirated material will not be tolerated. This is not democracy and any offenders will be banned and posts deleted immediately without warning.

I would say it's a 100% no, it's not something that we think should be a part of a media player.

Your argument is extremely valid, it always seemed a bit of a weird shoehorn into Kodi, but on the other hand a rather interesting one.
