I'm having the same audio sync issue, but disabling HW acceleration basically makes this useless for 4K movies on the shield. You need HW acceleration on to watch content.

Hopefully a fix is coming soon.

I have also had to turn off hardware acceleration on the shield and I’m currently watching 4K though the official Plex app until this is fixed.
