Updated Library, TV Shows & Movies gone

Tonight I checked for updates to my library and after the scanning was complete, my TV Shows and Movies section disappeared. This has happened to me before, and I was then instructed to set up my library using MySQL, which is what I have now. The video files are served via a SMB share.

Media Sources is still there, but that's all.

I scanned through the log and took a hint that it wasn't connecting to MySQL. I don't know why it keeps randomly doing this, but it must have happened before or during the library update. Maybe instead of just crapping out and making my library disappear it could actually tell me that it can't find the library?

Anyway, turning MySQL off then back on made it come back to life. Again, this seems to be happening at least a couple of times a week. I'm running MySQL 8.0.11 on an iMac running Mojave.

Me too, and with 3.7 MRMC only starts, when my synology is up - without started nas it only says „migration in progress“ and waits for the database / the synology switched on. Then i have to switch mysql on and off

with 3.6 everything worked better - it started without a running nas and i coul have a look at movies and shows and only have to start the nas when i really want to start a movie 3.6 was pure joy

This keeps happening to me and there is no apparent reason. It was fine for weeks, and then this week it happened to me twice, just days apart. Turning MySQL off and on again fixes it.

Regardless of where the problem lies, the "database migration" message isn't very helpful about what's going on, and when it fails you're just left with a blank app that doesn't work except for browsing your sources.

is you NAS setup to sleep ?

No, everything is on my iMac which I set to never sleep. Both times that this happened recently, I looked over at my iMac and the screensaver was going so I know it wasn't asleep.

Are the drives set to spin down, that's the default condition ?

I changed the setting in Energy Saver to disable "put hard drives to sleep when possible". I'm not sure if this is the problem but I'm monitoring it. The reason I wonder is because I have a new computer and I forgot to turn that setting off, but the problem happened before my new computer as well, and I know I had hard drive sleep turned off then.

It's happening again. MrMC launched and it's stuck on "database migration in progress". My computer is awake and I have disabled the setting "put hard disks to sleep when possible."

The only thing I can do is stop then start MySQL. Then on the AppleTV, go to the home screen, back to MrMC where it crashes after a moment. Then when I relaunch MrMC is fine.

This thing happens to me too. Not all the time, just occasionally. I didn't manage to find any rhyme or reason behind it. What could be causing this?
