As Google Play testing is only for people already owning the app, it is now made open.
Just go to https://play.google.com/apps/testing/tv.mrmc.mrmc to join/leave testing.
For generic improvments, see https://forum.mrmc.tv/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4693
Android specific:
- Oreo watchnext support
- Selective h/w acceleration from SPMC
- Hue streaming out of playback
- Hue groups support
- Improved sorting for non-english languages
- Come back to MrMC after a youtube trailer play
- Hopefully fixed most of passthrough issues
1. No user installed addons are supported, python or otherwise.
2. No, they really are not supported.
3. They are not coming back
4. Read from 1. again
Any mention of illegal streaming sites, addons or any pirated material will not be tolerated. This is not democracy and any offenders will be banned and posts deleted immediately without warning.
Other than that, we hope you enjoy MrMC so far and we welcome any input and feedback you might have.

Stupid question: I assume I have to go to this url on the actual shield device? If so, web browser recommendations?

@foghat
You can use a pc and login with your Google play store account.
I did this and then on my sheld tv I download testing build as a simple update.

Re: Testing MrMC 3.7.1 for Googple Play
Hello,
I use MrMc 3.7.1 on my TV Sony AF9 with Android TV Oreo (8.0.0) linked by HDMI ARC to a MDRHW-700DS.
The A/V sync works now. I have no delay by using passthrough (i have to add 530ms in 3.7.0).
But i have a new issue while MrMc has to transcode the audio (DTS, DTS-HD, Dolby-HD) in Dolby AC3.
There's some humming sound. I have to pause and start the movie 2 or 3 times to remove the humming sound and to have a perfect A/V sync.
In the log, you can found a lot of
16:32:44.054 T:18446744072876980592 DEBUG: ActiveAE::SyncStream - average error of -4.846508, start adjusting
16:32:44.054 T:18446744072876980592 DEBUG: ActiveAE::SyncStream - average error -4.846508 below threshold of 30.000000
You can find the debug log here
The IEC passthrough doesn't work. It seems that the IEC is broken on Sony firmware.
Hope it will help to improve MrMc

Re: Testing MrMC 3.7.1 for Googple Play
ABBC3_OFFTOPIC
First, thanks for making the process to join the testflight easier.
+ Plex initial connectivity is resolved (near instant).
+ Plex background is resolved.
- 3.7 problem: suggestion thumbnails still broken in 3.7.1 (cf this photo -> http://tof.cx/image/N9Eow)
- 3.6 regression: Ok button on shield tv remote does not stop the playback (or pop the low menu) but displays the media info. It's incoherent with the behavior of all other media applications I use on android TV. please at least make it configurable from the ui.
A note on oreo integration: The 'My selection' broken thumbnails only open the application without trying to load anything. The Channel integration opens something that is empty (does not relate to anything). I never saw the integration featured on your changes, so I did not expect anything, but that would be great.
Improvement request: plex nodes are correctly displayed in the ui but its filtering is naive (mixing all tv show nodes types in all tv show nodes types / same for films).

Hello Koying and the mrmc team!
I use a lg oled55e7n with built-in dolby atmos soundbar and ShieldTV.
Passthrough without iec
Unfortunately, the TV shows only briefly the Atmos logo then the sound starts to stutter the Atmos logo disappears and the TV remains silent.
Under Spmc it works great. Maybe you can help?
I hope google translate translates understandable.
Thank you

Hello amet!
That with multiple postings was not intentional. Sorry.
Maybe you can delete the wrong placed postings?
I will try to create a debuglog.
Thank you very much!

Re: Testing MrMC 3.7.1 for Google Play
I can confirm this build (20181010 - 2f8c9d3) fixes the A/V sync issue that appeared with 3.7.0 on my end as well.
Thanks for making testing open koying, it is greatly appreciated!
