MrMC and unlocked bootloader

Post by rodalpho » 24 Sep 2018, 14:48

Can the devs please explain your justification for MrMC not working with an unlocked bootloader? My banking apps and media apps with strong DRM like Netflix work fine, so it seems nonsensical that an app from a small independent developer would break. If there is a technical reason for this change, your users deserve to hear it.

Please consider changing your minds on this.

If you are not willing to change your minds, as I can no longer use the app I purchased, I want a refund. How do I go about requesting one?

I am, I like the program and would like to continue using it. That's why I bought it in the first place. Unfortunately that is taken out of my hands. I just requested a refund on the Play Store.

@amet: So you are not willing to explain why this is a requirement, then?

Edit: Google refused to refund as it's been over 48 hours since I purchased the app. Can the devs process a refund for me please? I can provide my google email in a PM, just tell me who to talk to. Thanks.

Would something like Magisk Mask hide root/bootloader status and allow MrMC to be downloaded/used? Before relocking my bootloader I considered it, but I havent used anything requiring root in a while so i just said the hell with it and put the shield back to stock

Yes, if I was rooted, I could probably install something to hide it from MrMC. This entire thing is silly.

Anyway, still waiting on that refund. MrMC devs are a legitimate group and wouldn't let a customer hang, right?

Hehe, this is just silly... you want to call us out on a purchase that you could have tested full functionality in a Lite version...

Sure, send me your PayPal address and I’ll personally will refund you $2.99 ... but please make sure you refrain from using it in future on various other android devices.

Some people ... :)

Edit: just realized this has hit you after the latest update... so I take back the comment that you could have tested it.... rest still stands... send me your PayPal and I’ll refund you

Thanks. Yeah, it hit me after the update, I can no longer install or update the app.

@amet, when I tried to PM you my paypal address the forum said "Some users couldn’t be added as they have disabled private message receipt".
