MrMc settings for test
Test 1
Channels: 2
Boost: 10dB
Passtrough: enabled
Formats:
IEC packed: Off
Hardware compatible: On
Transcode AC3: on

Result: No sound, no music, effects etc ...

Test 2
Channels: 2
Boost: 10dB
Passtrough: enabled
Formats:
IEC packed: On
Hardware compatible: On
Transcode AC3: on

Result: No sound, no music, effects etc ...

Test 3
Channels: 5.1
Boost: 10dB
Passtrough: enabled
Formats:
IEC packed: Off
Hardware compatible: On
Transcode AC3: on

Result: No sound, no music, effects etc ...

Test 4
Channels: 5.1
Boost: 10dB
Passtrough: enabled
Formats:
IEC packed: On
Hardware compatible: On
Transcode AC3: on

Result: No sound, no music, effects etc ...

Test 5
Channels: 5.1
Boost: 10dB
Passtrough: enabled
Formats:
IEC packed: On
Hardware compatible: off
Transcode AC3: off

Result: mudic and effects a bit strong compared to the dialogue. Probably the best configuration in my case.

Additionnal Test
With AAC 2.0 : not bad
DTS : Not pefect, i've try to up boost to 15 however no change.

Conclusion for my case:
Best could be
- To use 2.0 channels + boost = +10/15
- To use 5.1 channel + Passtrough (ON) + IEC packed + boost = 10 db

I hope all this information will help
