SD Playback out of sync

Post by MattJ2000 » 17 May 2018, 14:44

Hi there
I am playing back 25FPS mpg 720x567i files via a UPNP server.
The audio is out of sync with the pictures (about 2 frames)
When I’m play back the same video file via Kodi it seems correct.
I have the video set to ‘deinterlace’ & in ‘bob-inverted’
If i set it to deinterlace ‘auto’ the picture is in sync, but the 50hz look of the original 25i footage is lost; i.e. it becomes deinterlaced @ 25FPS.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Matt

Use a/v offset to adjust.

Not practical;
This then causes every other video file which it reads correctly to go out of sync.
Remember, the file is in sync, it’s just the media player is playing it back wrong.

The audio offset adjustment doesn't apply to every video unless you set it as default.

But that would mean I would have to manually change the sync on the speradic files which the media player plays out of sync each time I play them?
It would take 5 mins every time I want to play something to determine if it’s right or not & the adjust the audio until it’s correct.
Even though the files are fine, it’s the app at fault?
The app needs fixing! Not the files!

When you ask for sample, do you want me to upload an example of a mpg which plays out of sync?
How would I do that here?

Hi there
here is an example of a file which when played back on TV Shield via MrMC @ 25FPS using bob-inverted, plays back out of sync.
It is in sync if you disable deinterlacing, and also in sync if you use a playstation 3 to playback or a medi8ter.
Thanks
Matt
