DolbyVision was detected. So it has the correct signature.
And it's passing it through to your tv? So your TV actually says Dolby Vision too?
That's from my log and I do not have an HDR TV. You'll have to wait for other input.
That's very odd, tvOS permitted and switched to DolbyVision

:) It must be normal or else the former tonemapping feature via AVF would never have worked.

Debug Print: CGUITextureManager::GetTexturePath: could not find texture 'badges/video/dovi.png'

ok, so we need a badge for dovi now :)

Debug Print: displayModeSwitchInProgress == DONE, refreshRate = 59.94, dynamicRange = DolbyVision

Same for me

A few of these;

2018-05-10 22:01:53.488634-0400 MrMC[1297:4918253] Debug Print: Previous line repeats 1 times.

So does play, now we need someone with a DolbyVision enabled HDTV to give it a try.

I compared this test file on my ipad pro vs the movie from a 1080p blu-ray.

Batman's suit has a reddish tint, while the surrounding light is greenish in this test file.

Proper is for the suit to just be black while the surrounding light is very light bluish.

I am eager to hear from others on this.

What's really weird to me is I've now realized that those two LG demo files play perfectly on the ATV4k hooked to my 1080p TV. But, the DV screensaver rip doesn't, nor does any other HDR material. So, maybe tonemapping isn't removed and it's something else?

I've got a Sony 55A1 with dolby vision support.
Via internal player the file play very well in dolby vision mode. Unfortunately my shield tv doesn't support dolby vision so I can't try with MrMC. I've also try the file installing MrMC directly on my Sony android TV but I think the android version of this software doesn't support Dolby Vision (not even HDR).
All this to tell that the file is genuine and works perfectly android version of MrMC have some trouble with HDR and Dolby Vision.

Sorry for my bad English,

I can't test until Sunday when I'm back at my TV, hopefully someone can test it before that.
