Occasional glitches

Post by RobinWatts » 30 Jun 2017, 11:59

Hi all,

I have both Kodi and MrMC installed side by side on my FireTV v1 box (hooked up to a Yamaha 5.1 surround Amp).

I have been ripping my DVD/Blurays as mkv's onto a NAS device which I connect to both Kodi and MrMC via samba over wired ethernet.

Playing the a given DVD stream on Kodi (17.3), it plays flawlessly. Playing with MrMC, every minute or so I get a slight glitch in the sound (and possibly a hiccup in the video). (Both are doing AC3 5.1 passthrough when this happens). The AV settings are (as close as I can see) identical in both.

Are there some optimisations in Kodi that haven't made it into MrMC yet? Any hints for stuff to check?

I'd rather use MrMC than Kodi, because it does DTS passthrough too.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Apologies for the delay, I just had a disc failure on the NAS. I will get this asap.

So, after the NAS rebuild and rebooting my Fire TV, everything is working perfectly.

Not entirely sure what changed, but hey, I'm not going to complain!

Thanks for your help!
