storage requirement

Post by theRCRH » 20 Jun 2017, 20:37

I have MrMC installed on my first gen fireTV. I'm using a mySQL database and have all of my thumbnails moved to my USB drive. How much storage should I expect MrMC to take from my precious 5gig of internal storage?
It seems to keep growing and is now over 3.5gig.

Depends on how big your media collection is, thumbs are just one part of the number of things that can be fetched or generated. You want to adb in and see what exactly is taking up storage space.

Where would I look?

That's where I looked and there's almost nothing (about 23mb).
In the "manage installed applications" FireTV shows
MrMC
application 183MB
Data 2.91GB

This has got to be a firetv issue and not an MrMC issue.
hmmm.
Thanks for confirming that I'm looking in the right place.

du /sdcard/android/data/tv.mrmc.mrmc/files/.mrmc

This will return directory size in kilobytes, the path above is the only place on the device that MrMC stores r/w files.

well I just ran
du -hc /sdcard/android/data/
and got a grand total of 707M
So data for ALL my apps is taking up storage of only 707MB.
I have no idea where the rest of my internal storage has gone.
I can clearly see that this isn't an MrMC issue so feel free to just consider this a frustrated rant.

The trouble with that is that it's reading my USB drive too.
I'll have to wait til morning when I can eject it and then run this.
But even then it's still going to exclude a lot of storage that I don't have access to.
Thanks again.
