ffwd & rewind controls have changed!

Post by theRCRH » 19 Feb 2018, 02:54

I'm running MrMC on a 1st gen firetv and since the last update (3.5.0) the skip forward & back controls using the dpad have changed. Successive tabs used to move 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes. This was the same moving forward or in reverse. Now, moving forward is in 30 second increments and in reverse it is in 10 second increments.
This is pretty basic functionality to change without any notice.
How did this happened? Why the changed? How do I get it back?

Sorry if I missed some notice somewhere.

And is often the case I found my own answer in the play back settings.
I guess I'm still just wondering why it changed with the update.

Changed defaults for new users. This should not have effected existing setups so on the list to investigate.

Yes, when in testflight the new defaults did alter current settings. I thought this was expected so I didn't mention it.

Just to help with any investigation:
1) I'm not in TestFlight,
2) the update was very harsh. I was in MrMC and it crashed. As soon as I restarted I was in the new version (I got the message about running for the first time).
It was right after that that behaviour changed.

that sounds like an apple problem, updating an app while it's in use.

This is in the FireTV subforum & I'm running a 1st gen FireTV. I hope Apple's influence hasn't extended that far!

This is what happened to me with my post the other day. All TV refresh and matching settings were changed and I could no longer watch anything. Someone posted that the symptom I had sounded like refresh rates, so I experimented and fixed it. I had no idea what happened because it updated the app while I was using it. I've disabled automatically updating any apps now so I hope it won't happen again. I need to figure out how to save settings so I can reload them if this happens again.

oops! I've been replying to others in the apple forum. :D

OK, sounds like an Amazon problem!

After update I'd expect to see the blue bar at the bottom. I wonder if something got screwed up when updating while using the app.
