Hi!
I have a Apple 4K and can’t flirt the sound to work, if I enable passtrough I get a static noice and if I disable it I loose the center channel, I get no dialogue
Connected via hdmi to tv and arc back to The receiver, what to do?
Your setup isn't friendly with multi channel PCM.
Try setting MrMC to 5.1 channels, no passthrough. Then set tvOS audio settings to Dolby Digital 5.1 output.
That's what I've had to do for our ATV4 connected to a soundbar in the bedroom.

How is MrMC audio setup ?
Here’s my settings, translated from Swedish so hope you get it
5.1,
best match,
no stereo upmix,
resampling medium,
1m active,
Default inaudible silence,
No pass through.
TvOS is set with Best available quality.
Samsung tv is setup with
hdmi-format PCM (can choose bitstream also?)
and audio format - Dolby digital (can choose PCM or DTS neo 2:5)
Any idea what the reasons are?
I haven't seen any announcement from Apple in this regard, so I'll wait and see.
Currently I am on tvOS 11.2.6 and will remain so although I don't use/need the passthrough in my current set-up.
In another set-up, with Kodi on MacMini and HK receiver, when I use the passthrough, I sometimes notice slight audio delays (noticeable on the lip-sync and specially with the frame-rate switching enabled Kodi macOS), so I guess that the overall result is better when the audio and video decoding are both handled by the player.
