I found the cause. Neither Apple TV nor MrMC caused my problems.
My network switch must have had some problems. Even reboot didn't help. Maybe some dirt in the connection. I found that the connection to the switch at the TV had only 100Mbit. After unplugging and replugging the network cable into the switch I had a gigabit connection. This solved the issue.
I don't have to change the buffer size and I don't have to change the method of acceleration. Everything without any problems now.
Thanks to everybody who helped !

Good work tracking this down. Cables can get strange over time. The electrical conductors can oxidize over time and cause an increased resistance at the joint. Unplugging and replugging physically wipes the oxide layer away and all is good again. Good conductors will have a gold plating on them, gold does not oxidize but the gold plating has to be thick enough to matter.
