Proposal/idea - Live TV and frame rate shifting!

Post by kbaggen » 02 Dec 2017, 13:44

Hi MrMC Team,
for us using MrMC as TV frontend it would be super if the frame rate shifting is only connected to the movies/Tv series part of MrMC, hence, when used for live TV the frame shifting should not be used!

Almost allways a Live TV user would set the ATV till the 50 or 60hz of his/hers region (eg. EU or US) and as such when seeing live tlevision thee is no need for shifting, but as soon as we go to rips of TVseries or movies it is so nice to see it in 24hz/60hz (I am om 50hz region TV wise).

Would shuch an implementation be possible?
Klaus

Possible but we would have to think of the implications. For example if tvOS is set to HDR and live is SDR, what should it do ?

Not sure is it a big issue....how many got rips in HDR anyway? So I could live with if you wish to use this, you have to select 1080p SDR for instance (most likely for us using MrMC as a TV front-end anyway)!
