It indeed works just omit the "--progress" part. My LG B8 detected DV via the internal player and picture is great.

yep it works great! i used TSMuxer on a m2ts and it demuxed out the baselayer.hevc and dvlayer.hevc and audio.ac3 and then dolby mp4muxer put them all together, yes without --progress (not sure why he said that), and it gave me a single mp4 file.

can anyone confirm it works on apple tv mrmc, like it actually flags DV on their tv and plays properly? or on an LG UHD BD Player via usb hdd? they're much cheaper than an LG OLED TV ;)

perhaps I should upload a small clip for guys to try?

Unfortunately the resulting file doesnt play on ATV4K probably because it also has two videostreams embedded just like the original m2ts. The TV however recognizes DV and upon checking yesterday with Matrix Revolutions the picture really looks better than the hdr10 version, more saturated colors, more brightness and shadow detail.

Yeah well welcome to Dolby Vision ^^ Someone finally did a bit of work....

And if the TV recognizes it then it has to be single layer DV?! Why cant the Apple play it? Maybe the MrMC pros can make it work now?!

Like I said the resulting MP4 is not single layer:

Video: HVC1 3840x2160 23.976fps 51223kbps [V: video handler (hevc main 10, yuv420p10le, 3840x2160, 51223 kb/s)]
Video: DVHE 1920x1080 23.976fps 63kbps [V: video handler (dvhe / 0x65687664, 1920x1080, 63 kb/s)]

Here is a heap of .mp4 Dolby Vision files:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... GCJNs31ttW

These only play audio in MrMC on ATV. Play correctly using the inbuilt video app on Sony Android TV.

No idea of the source, they are not my files. They seem to be official Dolby Vision test clips.
If you go up a folder level they also have .ts based files:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... 6IDpdm-Wgc

The owner of the files is "Dolby Vision".
