Installed the latest testflight.

I cleaned out my library yesterday and right now I have no movies with 7.1 audio...except a music blu-ray which has 96khz DTS-HD tracks.

The 7.1 track on that blu-ray is only outputting 5.1 PCM to my receiver. Could this be because MrMC is having to convert 96khz to 48khz? When I had movies 7.1 tracks (dolby true HD or DTS-HD) were outputting 7.1 PCM according to audio settings in MrMC.

Or is something else wrong? Is 96khz not possible through the ATV4?

Correct, 96khz not possible through the ATV4. It only supports 48khz.

What gets output is highly dependent on a) ATV4 audio settings and b) MrMC audio/speaker settings. Between these two, there are about 100+ possible combinations.

Just wanted to let you know that the two latest Testflights (including the one released today) broke DD 5.1 audio dowmix to 2.0 via HDMI in TVheadend. Only garbage coming out of the speakers. DD 2.0 is fine though.

are you using some special test files for this? if so, are they free to download somewhere?

But... Please! Do not release this build to the AppStore. There are a lot of people who just connect their ATV directly to the TV. 2 of my 3 ATVs are connected like that.

I have a folder full of audio and video test files that I've collected over the years, including a Dolby AC3 speaker mapping test file, Dolby TrueHD 7.1 speaker mapping test file, a DTS-HD MA 7.1 speaker mapping test file, and a DTS-HD MA 5.1 speaker mapping test file. The great thing about these is that the video actually shows the speaker that is outputting the audio, so you can easily tell if they're mapped properly. I'm honestly not sure if they're free to download (but I assume they are since they're test files and not a movie), so just google for them and you'll find them out there.

I also have others, like Atmos, 3D, 3D with subtitles, 4K, 10 bit processing, etc etc etc. I've made a few myself to test for black levels and other things for TV Shows/Movies that I've found had black level issues so I can test if settings on a TV are good or not. I'd highly recommend finding things that you can use to test different things that you might have issues with depending on what you might find important. It also helps if you use a few different Media Centers like I do too.
