Re: Testing MrMC 3.3.1

Yeah, from what I can tell.... The levels are noticeably raised using the deinterlacing settings, but from memory by differing amounts depending on which is used. I would need to test that tho. Switching off Deinterlacing completely fixes the issue for me, which considering the source is Pal 1080i i...

Re: Testing MrMC 3.3.1

Okay... Something interesting. I discovered that the raised black levels I see with recorded and live SDR content from Mediaportal is fixed, if I change Deinterlace setting in OSD/Settings/Video from 'Auto' to 'Off' Seems kinda weird to have to do that change, but setting of On, or Auto results in d...

Re: Testing MrMC 3.3.1

(Grin). Thanks for that setting!. Yes, it does indeed display HD test patterns as per that earlier build. However..... (Oh oh, the developer says) When I play SDR Recorded content from my PVR, it is still completely washed out with gray bars on letterboxes or 4x3 content instead of black. If I watch...

Re: Testing MrMC 3.3.1

Hello. Installed latest TestFlight build. Video levels looking pretty bad for SDR content, TV recordings etc. My PVR add on is Mediaportal. Can play SDR TV recording in Mediaportal PC and looks normal. Switch over to AppleTV 4K connected to same display, and recording is completely washed out, with ...

Re: Testing MrMC 3.3.1

Latest build that supposedly fixes Full Range Video, has completely screwed video levels for me. Is really messed up now. Checking full range test patterns on a calibrated display, show completely crushed blacks, and blown out whites. Ie. Can see no black bars at all, and no white bars at all on cli...

Re: Testing MrMC 3.3.1

Tried out current TestFlight build.

Full range video levels seem really good now.
SDR black levels seem good so far.
Dolby Vision recognition working.

Will test further by watching some content.

Re: Testing MrMC 3.3.1

Ok, discovered why no Dolby Vision flags for me. I Started reverting MrMC Testflight builds. Version 3.31 (171203.1534) makes the Dolby Vision flag appear for me, using those sample files linked, and the screensaver one. TS, mkv, and mov all trigger the Dolby Vision flag of my Oled TV. I was in HDR ...

Re: Testing MrMC 3.3.1

Downloaded that video file of extracted screensaver. Still no DolbyVision flag, and my TV says it is HDR. However, went into video in MrMC settings,, and under acceleration, turned on 'allow HEVC HDR Content' and tried playing that screensaver again. This time it plays completely washed out with rea...

Re: Testing MrMC 3.3.1

Hmm. Ok, thanks will try that file link. I don't see the point of testing Dolby Vision file with the AppleTV4k locked in Dolby Vision mode, as it is converting everything to Dolby Vision, no matter what the origin content is, whether it contains meta data or not, SDR, HDR .. It will convert to Dolby...

Re: Testing MrMC 3.3.1

Are you guys running your ATV4k with Dolby Vision permanently enabled?. ie. AppleTV is converting all content to Dolby Vision. I have mine set to HDR mode with auto framerate and range switched on. When I run Netflix app and play a Dolby Vision show, the info pane on my LG Oled indicates Dolby Visio...
