Changed defaults for new users. This should not have effected existing setups so on the list to investigate.
Yes, when in testflight the new defaults did alter current settings. I thought this was expected so I didn't mention it.

Did this fix not make it to 3.5 ?
Yes, 3.5 has fixes for HDR material.

Make sure you're using AVFoundation as decoder for HDR material.

Re: After Update Stuttering and Slow

It sounds like your TV is just being told to switch refresh rate to match content. If so, the behavior you're seeing is normal. Stuttering isn't.

Re: Skipping ahead problems since 3.50

The defaults were changed to what is considered more sensible for beginning users (along with handling with the siri remote, which you didn't notice because you're not using it). In settings>video>playback>skip steps you can edit to what you prefer.

Re: Missing Shadow Detail, nothing below 2% black

Anyone try VLC yet ? Their 3.0 version says it has HDR support. Whatever method VLC uses it's mapping HDR to SDR for me. MrMC used to do that but in 11.3 beta it doesn't. Also, VLC is not matching frame rate of content for me. I'm guessing that of the 3 API you mentioned earlier it uses one differe...

Re: bug: no movies and tvshows without internet

Same for Plex. Yesterday Plex had some down time which kept MrMC from seeing my Plex server, even though the settings on the server allow for local network without auth. This is the same server I use every day. Plex clients made by Plex can get on the server because of the local network allowance. S...

Re: Missing Shadow Detail, nothing below 2% black

As reported: - using the TV's native media player: 66 and up are visible (nominal), - using Infuse on Apple TV 4K: 84 and up are visible, - using MrMC on Apple TV 4K: 84 and up are visible, - using the "Computers" app on Apple TV 4K (through iTunes homesharing): 72 and up are visible. But zero info...

Re: Missing Shadow Detail, nothing below 2% black

Hello, Any news regarding this problem ? For your information, Infuse has exactly the same problem, since the new version is out. (5.6.8) Regards, Maybe I'm out of place interjecting here but my understanding is if you're using AVFoundation as the decoder then it's a tvOS problem, not MrMC problem....

Re: Testing MrMC 3.5.1

Did you notice that the CPU usage is over 100% as soon as you watch a TV program in HD? When I watch a movie about Plex the load is at max. 60%. Live TV/DVR of broadcast mpeg2 or interlaced h264 uses software decoding so is taxing the CPU. Other playback likely uses hardware decoders so you'll see ...
