that's changed since koying took over android side
I see. It looks like the requirement for Android 7 and up hasn't changed. All my Amlogic and Realtek boxes show up as incompatible. I think they are all on Android 6. I will have to check one of the Amlogic boxes with Android 7 firmware.

Re: Device Compatibility

Does it have anything to do with aarch64? I thought I had read somewhere that MrMC ran only on 64bit builds.

Re: Dolby Vision Mux!

He needs to update his CMU (Content Mapping Unit), it's basically a supermicro computer that's been properly licensed by Dolby. That's not the impression that I got from his posts. He is using a non-production unit that is not properly licensed. That's why he is having trouble getting it to work wi...

Re: Dolby Vision Mux!

"VirenRawal: Thanks for feedback, profile 4 is not suitable for 4k but I will still give it a try." Hopefully it will work :o All the original LG Dolby Vision clips are profile 4. I am not sure on what basis he made that comment. Both profile 4 and 5 support the maximum Dolby Vision level 9 (2160p ...

thought on how to properly support profile 5 ?
It looks like FFmpeg already supports ICtCp color space. Is this information from profile 5 video being passed to AVF codec?

Re: Dolby Vision Mux!

Just to clarify properly: no one is working on dual-layer DV support for the Apple box and no one probably will in the next few months, right? No need to drag on that DV topic for months and years if it doesnt happen anywhere. Someone on Reddit is making good progress on converting single-layer to ...

Re: Dolby Vision Mux!

@wesk05, can you explain backward compatibility? A Dolby Vision stream can be set to be backward compatible with HDR10 or SDR. In MediaInfo, you would see a string like this for Dolby Vision clips - dvhe.dtr@uhd24. The alphabet before "@" is the one that tells you what the backward compbatibility i...

Re: Dolby Vision Mux!

The video on the Russian forum only shows re-authoring a Dolby Vision UHD disc from a retail disc "backup". You can't simply mux the base layer and enhancement layers to a single layer profile. If you aren't working with the master, it has to be re-encoded.

I'm not sure what happens to a person who openly admits to "hacking" a Dolby CMU and leaks un-released sutdio titles.Just saying ;)

Re: Dolby Vision Mux!

It has Dolby Vision profile 5. There is no BL backward compatibility for this profile. The color space is Dolby Vision native ICtCp.

The guy doing this on makeMKV forum is likely jeopardizing his licenses! (He could very well be an employee working in one of the studios).
