I realize that I'm a little late to the party, but this is a great addition to the MrMC team! I used SPMC on my first android box and really enjoyed the optimizations Koying made with it. Ultimately I went the AppleTV route, so I look forward to the contributions he will bring.

I'm not in front of MrMC right now, but there are control opens that you can adjust under Settings. It may be under System option, but there will be an Input section that gives choices on how the Siri remote behaves. Try adjusting these to see if it better matches what you are looking for.

Yes, this is how I have my guide selection set. Just go to Settings --> TV --> Guide. You'll see an option in there called "Default Select Action". Change this to "Switch to Channel". Hope this helps!
